"Daddy, I went to the Dallas Temple!!!"

Two weeks ago Emily stumbled upon a picture of what she swore was a castle. It was beautiful and perfect and she couldn't get enough of looking at it. It was the Dallas, Texas Temple.

She wanted to know everything about the "castle" and she loved everything about it...especially the Angel Moroni. She delighted in learning that there were many many more throughout the world and she quickly made it know to us what her greatest wish was - to go inside one day.

This weekend I decided to give her just that opportunity. I knew she would be excited, but she wasn't...she was ecstatic!

Me:      "Emily, you better get ready. We are going to the Dallas, Texas Temple."
Emily: *gasp* "I'm going to the Dallas Temple??!
*giggles through the house* "I'm going to the Temple! I'm going to the Temple!"
*giggles some more* "I'm going inside the Dallas Temple!"

She was full of joy and beaming from ear to ear.

She ran from place to place and pointed out Angel Moroni dozens of times. But there was only one thing on her mind as soon as we arrived...she needed to go inside. And that's when the disappointment began. She was heart broken that she could only go so far, and she begged for an opportunity to walk further inside.

Nothing was going to soothe her disappointment, but I was able to appease her sadness with a trip to the bookstore so we could purchase her very own Dallas, Texas picture, some fabulous temple stickers, and an entire Friend magazine loaded with stories and pictures of temples.

She could have spent the entire day on those grounds and she was excited to come home to tell Daddy all about her trip. In fact, the first words out of her mouth when she saw him was "Daddy, I went to the Dallas Temple!!"

It really was music to my ears.
