Easter 2013

I actually forgot about Easter. Yep, I am one of those lame moms that completely forgot about the entire holiday. Yes, I admit I heard people talking about it in passing. But the thought apparently didn't register in my brain. That is until Thursday when Emily's daycare was asking me if they could expect Emily to join them for the festivities on Friday. Doh! My conversation with Richard 5 minutes later went like this...

Richard: "Hello"
Katie: "Hey, Easter is on Sunday"
Richard: "Crap"
Katie: "Yeah, crap"

There folks, is what makes us award winning! Ha!

So what did I do Friday morning on my way into work? Yep, you better believe it, my cute self was at WalMart. The one stop shop for eggs, egg dipping supplies, and Easter basket goodies. Of course, Friday evening ended with Emily throwing up...so all the Easter egg hunt candy I bought was useless. Yay! But thankfully I have a closet full of stickers and tiny trinkets, so that took the place of the candy quite nicely.

Saturday evening we enjoyed a simple and quick egg hunt and Emily got to open up her Easter gift, and today us girls got to have fun dipping some eggs. All in all the weekend didn't go as originally planned, but there were some perks. It was fun to spend the entire weekend locked up in the house just relaxing, annndd now I have some chocolate I get to eat for the rest of the week. Win-win for sure!

*As a side note...no the poor thing didn't injure her forehead. After spending a long night helping her through her tummy troubles, I couldn't help but comply when she requested a bandaid. Well worth the smile she gave me!

That is if you don't count the 4 that were eaten last night.
