The paperwork process is officially over and the Ewing household is now licensed, registered on the DFPS' official website (TARE), and ready to begin the next stage. Adopting!
This past week has been a flurry of emotions. With the paperwork processing getting delayed, I honestly did the only thing I could do so as to keep sane, I became disconnected from the idea of adopting. Now that the process is done, the realization has hit us and the excitement has only become more real. We're still not quite sure who Heavenly Father has picked out for us, but we're ready for it all! We have a bed for every stage, including a twin bed, a toddler bed, and even a crib. We're also the proud new owners of a bunk bed. Overkill for one child? Yeah, probably. But this past month we have begun wondering if there is not just one special spirit waiting, but two.
Our impressions are still fuzzy, but the overall answer is clear - we will know when the time is right. I guess until then, our job is to be prepared and to open up our heart. There are so many children waiting for homes, it's hard to not want to take them all. Everyone after all deserves a forever family.
